ASAP-to-PSAP receives ANSI approval

The APCO/TMA ANS 2.101.3-2021 Alarm Monitoring Company to Emergency Communications Center (ECC) Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) has received final approval from ANSI and has been published on the APCO website.

ASAP Welcomes 85th ECC

The Tucson AZ Public Safety Communications Center is the 85th Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the United States and 5th ECC in the state of Arizona to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP).

Tucson went live with Tyco (Johnson Controls),  Vector Security, Rapid Response Monitoring, Security Central, Protection One, AT&T Digital Life, and Vivint initially on Monday, April 19th. Those companies were following by Securitas, Guardian Protection, National Monitoring Center, Alert 360, Brinks, ADT, and Affiliated Monitoring over the course of the three days following April 19th.

Portsmouth, VA ECC – 84th ASAP-to-PSAP

The Portsmouth VA Emergency Communications Center is the 84th ECC in the United States and 15th ECC in the state of Virginia to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Portsmouth went live with Rapid Response, Vector Security and Richmond Alarm at 8:30am EDT on Tuesday, April 13th followed by Guardian Protection, CPI, Protection one, Brinks, AT&T Digital Life, Vivint, National Monitoring Center, Securitas, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Security Central, ADT, and Affiliated Monitoring.

Minnesota ECC is 82nd ASAP-to-PSAP

The Anoka County MN Emergency Communications Center (ECC) the 82nd ECC in the United States and 2nd ECC in the state of Minnesota to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Anoka County went live with Vivint, Vector Security, Rapid Response Monitoring, Tyco (Johnson Controls), and Quick Response initially on Wednesday, March 3rd followed by Security Central, Guardian Protection, Stanley Security, Affiliated Monitoring, Brinks Home Security, Securitas, National Monitoring Center, Protection One, AT&T Digital Life and ADT on Thursday, March 4th.

“ASAP will definitely take some of the call load off of our dispatchers, which keeps them more available for emergency calls”, said Kari Morrissey, Communications Coordinator with the Anoka County Emergency Communications Center. “We are excited to be a part of this program. It’s a win-win for all involved. Our public safety partners will receive their calls quicker, which ultimately means a faster response to alarms from initial trip time. This benefits the citizens and businesses to which we provide service.”

TMA Welcomes it 81st ECC to its ASAP-to-PSAP Service

The Cumberland County PA Department of Public Safety is the 81st Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the United States and 5th ECC in the state of Pennsylvania to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Cumberland County went live with Vector Security and Rapid Response Monitoring initially on Wednesday, January 27th followed by Stanley Security, Quick Response, Securitas, Affiliated Monitoring, Guardian Protection, AT&T Digital Life, National Monitoring Center, Protection One, Brinks Home Security, Vivint, Tyco (Johnson Controls), and ADT.

“With the installation of ASAP into our system, we can improve 9-1-1 response time for Cumberland County residents or business owners who have alarm systems.” said Robert Shively Jr., Public Safety Director. “Currently alarm companies call using our non-emergency numbers to report a burglar, fire or medical alarm requiring our dispatch to receive and manually enter all the information. “With ASAP, we will get the alarm notification electronically which will automatically populate the data into the Computer Aided Dispatch system.”

TMA’s ASAP-to-PSAP Program Marks its 79th and 80th ECCs

The Monitoring Association (TMA) is pleased to announce the addition its 79th and 80th municipalities to go live with its expanding ASAP-to-PSAP program. Launched in 2011 as a public-private partnership, TMA’s ASAP-to-PSAP service is designed to increase the accuracy and efficiency of calls for service from alarm companies to PSAPs.

“TMA’s ASAP-to-PSAP program experienced nice momentum in 2020 with a new annual adoption record of 18 ECCs across the country,” stated TMA President Don Young. “As the network of ASAP compatible ECCs continues to grow, those not yet using the service are learning firsthand from their colleagues about the time and accuracy improvements that come with ASAP and therefore the enhanced capability for saving lives in the alarm response process. TMA remains proud to deliver this unique service to its members and accomplish their mission for providing professional monitoring capabilities to help better protect life and property in both residential and commercial settings.”

TMA welcomed its 79th ECC, the Cayuga County NY 9-1-1 Center and the 6th ECC in the state of New York to implement ASAP. Cayuga County first went live with Vector Security and Rapid Response Monitoring. A second wave of companies including ADT, Amherst Alarm, Affiliated Monitoring, AT&T Digital Life, Guardian Protection, Brinks Home Security, National Monitoring Center, Protection One, Security Central, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Vivint, and Doyle went live with Cayuga County just days later.

“This is a seamless procedure allowing alarm companies to transfer alarm activations and the data associated directly to our computer aided dispatch system”, said Denise Spingler, Cayuga County 9-1-1 Administrator. “This allows for a more expedited dispatch of emergency services.”

The Paradise Valley AZ Police Communications Center is the 80th Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the United States and 4th ECC in the state of Arizona to implement ASAP. Paradise Valley went live with Affiliated Monitoring, AT&T Digital Life, ADT, Alert 360, Guardian Protection, Brinks Home Security, National Monitoring Center, Protection One, Rapid Response Monitoring (plus A3 Smart Home), Security Central, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Vivint, and Securitas over a two day period in mid-December.

TMA Welcomes its 74th ECC to its ASAP-to-PSAP Service

The Raleigh – Wake County NC Communications (RWECC) is the 74th ECC in the United States and 10th NC to implement TMA’s Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP).

RWECC went live with Rapid Response at 8am EDT on Wednesday, October 7th followed by Vector Security, Quick Response, ADS, Alert360, Tyco, Affiliated Monitoring, National Monitoring Center(NMC), AT&T Digital Life, Brinks Home Security, Protection One, Guardian Protection and Vivint. ADT, CPI Security, Security Central, Holmes Security and Wegmans Security will go live with RWECC in the near future.

TMA Welcomes Texas PSAP

The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) is the 72nd Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the United States to implement the (ASAP) and the 10th ECC in the state of Texas to implement ASAP. The GCSO went live with Vector Security and Rapid Response, at 8am CDT on Wednesday, July 22nd followed by Security Central, Guardian Protection, Tyco (Johnson Controls), the National Monitoring Center, AT&T Digital Life, Vivint, Affiliated Monitoring, and Protection One.  Alert 360 and ADT are scheduled to go live with the GCSO within the next 2-3 weeks. 

“The implementation of ASAP to PSAP within the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office ECC is anticipated to provide improved efficiency, accuracy and expedition responding to Police, Fire and EMS alarm calls.  This includes business and residential alarm calls within the unincorporated communities of Galveston County, the City of Hitchcock, the City of Clear Lake Shores, the Village of Tiki Island and the City of Bayou Vista”, said Lt. Margo Ihde, Division Commander of Communications. “The Sheriff’s Office is enthusiastic about this advancement to better serve our community; increasing our ability to assist in saving lives and protecting property by decreasing the amount of time it takes to dispatch and subsequently respond to in progress alarm calls.”

GA County Goes Live with ASAP-to-PSAP

The DeKalb County GA E-9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center (ECC) is the 66th ECC in the United States to implement ASAP and the 3rd ECC in the state of Georgia to implement ASAP.

DeKalb County went live on Monday, April 27th at 7am EST with Vector Security, then followed by Affiliated Monitoring, Guardian Protection, National Monitoring Center, Alert 360, Vivint, AT&T Digital Life, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Protection One, Brinks Home Security, Rapid Response and ESC. ADT is expected to go-live with DeKalb County in the near future.

Arlington County, VA Goes Live with ASAP-to-PSAP

The Arlington County VA Emergency Communications Center (ECC) is the 65th ECC in the United States to implement ASAP and the 12th ECC in the Commonwealth of Virginia to implement ASAP.

Arlington County went live on Wednesday, February 12th at 9am EST simultaneously with Rapid Response and Vector Security, then followed by Security Central, Affiliated Monitoring, Alert 360, Richmond Alarm, the National Monitoring Center, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Vivint, Guardian Protection, AT&T Digital Life, and Brinks Home Security. ADT is scheduled to go-live with Arlington on February 18th.
