TMA Welcomes its 93rd ECC to its ASAP-to-PSAP Service

On November 9th, TMA welcomed the Kitsap County WA (CENCOM) to its growing ASAP-to-PSAP service. It is the 93rd emergency communications center (ECC) in the United States and the first agency in the state of Washington to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Kitsap County went live with Vector Security, Rapid Response, United Central Control, Security Central, Securitas, Tyco (Johnson Controls), AT&T Digital Life, Affiliated Monitoring, Vivint, Brinks Home Security, National Monitoring Center, Guardian Protection, Protection One, and ADT. Washington Alarm and Stanley Security are expected to go-live with Kitsap by the end of November.

The state of Washington became the 19th state in the United States to participate in the ASAP program.

 Beaumont, TX

The Beaumont TX Police Department 9-1-1 Operations Center became the 91st ECC in the United States and the 11th ECC in the state of Texas to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Beaumont went live on Tuesday, August 10th with Rapid Response Monitoring, Vector Security, Securitas, Security Central, Stanley Security, Guardian Protection, Affiliated Monitoring, AT&T Digital Life, Tyco (Johnson Controls), National Monitoring Center, Protection One, Brinks Home Security, Alert 360 and Vivint. ADT and United Central Control (UCC) will be brought online soon.

Chesterfield County, VA

The Chesterfield County VA Emergency Communications Center is the 92nd public safety communications center in the United States and the 18th agency in the state of Virginia to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Chesterfield County went live on Monday, September 13th with Vector Security, Rapid Response Monitoring, Stanley Security, CPI, AT&T Digital Life, Guardian Protection, Protection One, Securitas, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Affiliated Monitoring, United Central Control, National Monitoring Center, Vivint, Richmond Alarm, Wegmans Security, Brinks Home Security and Security Central. ADT went live with Chesterfield County of on September 29th.

Tommy Tucker, Chesterfield’s Director of Emergency Communications, said they are excited to bring this advancement in service to the community. “Increasing our ability to assist in saving lives and protecting property by decreasing the amount of time it takes to respond to and subsequently dispatch in-progress alarm calls,” Tucker said.

Pasco County FL ECC is the 90th To Go Live with ASAP Service

The Pasco County FL Emergency Services 9-1-1 Communications Center is the 90th ECC in the United States and the 10th ECC in the state of Florida to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Pasco County went live on Tuesday, June 13th and Wednesday, June 14th with Vector Security, Rapid Response Monitoring, Securitas, Affiliated Monitoring, AT&T Digital Life, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Security Central, Protection One, National Monitoring Center, Vivint, Stanley Security, Guardian Protection, Alert 360 and ADS Security. Brinks Home Security and ADT will be brought online at a later date.

TMA Welcomes its 74th ECC to its ASAP-to-PSAP Service

On Wednesday, October 7th, the Raleigh – Wake County NC Communications  (RWECC) went live with TMA’s ASAP-to-PSAP service. It is the 74th ECC in the United States and 10th ECC in the state of North Carolina to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP).

RWECC went live with Rapid Response at 8am EDT followed by Vector Security, Quick Response, ADS, Alert360, Tyco, Affiliated Monitoring, National Monitoring Center(NMC), AT&T Digital Life, Brinks Home Security, Protection One, Guardian Protection and Vivint. ADT, CPI Security, Security Central, Holmes Security and Wegmans Security will go live with RWECC in the near future.

The Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP), launched in 2011 as a public-private partnership, is designed to increase the efficiency and reliability of emergency electronic signals from monitoring companies to PSAPs. ASAP utilizes ANSI standard protocols developed cooperatively by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) and The Monitoring Association. With ASAP, critical life safety signals and accurate information are processed in seconds, not minutes, through the Nlets system of state-to-state PSAP communication, insuring that complete and accurate information is transmitted to the PSAP every time.

TMA’s ASAP-to-PSAP Program Marks its 79th and 80th ECCs

The Monitoring Association (TMA) is pleased to announce the addition its 79th and 80th municipalities to go live with its expanding ASAP-to-PSAP program. Launched in 2011 as a public-private partnership, TMA’s ASAP-to-PSAP service is designed to increase the accuracy and efficiency of calls for service from alarm companies to PSAPs.     

“TMA’s ASAP-to-PSAP program experienced nice momentum in 2020 with a new annual adoption record of 18 ECCs across the country,” stated TMA President Don Young. “As the network of ASAP compatible ECCs continues to grow, those not yet using the service are learning firsthand from their colleagues about the time and accuracy improvements that come with ASAP and therefore the enhanced capability for saving lives in the alarm response process. TMA remains proud to deliver this unique service to its members and accomplish their mission for providing professional monitoring capabilities to help better protect life and property in both residential and commercial settings.”

TMA welcomed its 79th ECC, the Cayuga County NY 9-1-1 Center and the 6th ECC in the state of New York to implement ASAP. Cayuga County first went live with Vector Security and Rapid Response Monitoring. A second wave of companies including ADT, Amherst Alarm, Affiliated Monitoring, AT&T Digital Life, Guardian Protection, Brinks Home Security, National Monitoring Center, Protection One, Security Central, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Vivint, and Doyle went live with Cayuga County just days later.

“This is a seamless procedure allowing alarm companies to transfer alarm activations and the data associated directly to our computer aided dispatch system”, said Denise Spingler, Cayuga County 9-1-1 Administrator. “This allows for a more expedited dispatch of emergency services.”

The Paradise Valley AZ Police Communications Center is the 80th Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the United States and 4th ECC in the state of Arizona to implement ASAP. Paradise Valley went live with Affiliated Monitoring, AT&T Digital Life, ADT, Alert 360, Guardian Protection, Brinks Home Security, National Monitoring Center, Protection One, Rapid Response Monitoring (plus A3 Smart Home), Security Central, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Vivint, and Securitas over a two day period in mid-December.

TMA Adds Three New ECCs to its ASAP-to-PSAP Service

Volusia County FL Sheriff’s Office Communication Center (FL)

The Volusia County FL Sheriff’s Office Communication Center is the 86th Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the United States and the 9th ECC in the state of Florida to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Volusia County went live on Monday, May 17th with Rapid Response Monitoring, Vector Security, Security Central, Securitas, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Quick Response, ADS (Nashville), Alert 360, Guardian Protection, Affiliated Monitoring, National Monitoring Center, AT&T Digital Life, Protection One, Vivint, and Brinks Home Security. Those companies were followed by Stanley Security and ADT on Tuesday, May 18th.

Iredell County Emergency Communications Center (NC)

The Iredell County Emergency Communications Center is the 87th ECC in the United States and 10th ECC in the State of North Carolina to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Iredell County went live with Rapid Response and Vector Security on Thursday, May 20th followed by Quick Response, Securitas, Stanley Security, Guardian Protection, Affiliated Monitoring, Tyco (Johnson Controls), ADS Security, Vivint, Alert360, National Monitoring Center, AT&T Digital Life, Brinks Home Security, Protection One and ADT. CPI Security and Security Central will be online with the agency in the near future.

Director Miller stated, “This partnership with the public sector alarm monitoring providers will reduce phone calls by sharing information via computer. Additionally, this will improve accuracy eliminating the need for manual entry, allowing the emergency signals to be processed within seconds and shared to the emergency responders.”

Prince William County VA Public Safety Communications Center (VA)

The Prince William County VA Public Safety Communications Center (PSCC) is the 88th ECC in the United States and the 16th ECC in the state of Virginia to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Prince William County went live on Tuesday, May 25th with Vector Security, Rapid Response Monitoring, Stanley Security, Security Central, Richmond Alarm, National Monitoring Center, Vivint, Wegmans Security, Protection One, AT&T Digital Life, Guardian Protection, and Brinks Home Security. Those companies were followed by Securitas, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Affiliated Monitoring, and ADT on Wednesday, May 26th.

ASAP-to-PSAP receives ANSI approval

The APCO/TMA ANS 2.101.3-2021 Alarm Monitoring Company to Emergency Communications Center (ECC) Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP) has received final approval from ANSI and has been published on the APCO website.

The Tucson AZ Public Safety Communications Center is the 85th Emergency Communications Center (ECC) in the United States and 5th ECC in the state of Arizona to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP).

Tucson went live with Tyco (Johnson Controls),  Vector Security, Rapid Response Monitoring, Security Central, Protection One, AT&T Digital Life, and Vivint initially on Monday, April 19th. Those companies were following by Securitas, Guardian Protection, National Monitoring Center, Alert 360, Brinks, ADT, and Affiliated Monitoring over the course of the three days following April 19th.

Portsmouth, VA ECC – 84th ASAP-to-PSAP

The Portsmouth VA Emergency Communications Center is the 84th ECC in the United States and 15th ECC in the state of Virginia to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Portsmouth went live with Rapid Response, Vector Security and Richmond Alarm at 8:30am EDT on Tuesday, April 13th followed by Guardian Protection, CPI, Protection one, Brinks, AT&T Digital Life, Vivint, National Monitoring Center, Securitas, Tyco (Johnson Controls), Security Central, ADT, and Affiliated Monitoring.

Minnesota ECC is 82nd ASAP-to-PSAP

The Anoka County MN Emergency Communications Center (ECC) the 82nd ECC in the United States and 2nd ECC in the state of Minnesota to implement the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP). Anoka County went live with Vivint, Vector Security, Rapid Response Monitoring, Tyco (Johnson Controls), and Quick Response initially on Wednesday, March 3rd followed by Security Central, Guardian Protection, Stanley Security, Affiliated Monitoring, Brinks Home Security, Securitas, National Monitoring Center, Protection One, AT&T Digital Life and ADT on Thursday, March 4th.

“ASAP will definitely take some of the call load off of our dispatchers, which keeps them more available for emergency calls”, said Kari Morrissey, Communications Coordinator with the Anoka County Emergency Communications Center. “We are excited to be a part of this program. It’s a win-win for all involved. Our public safety partners will receive their calls quicker, which ultimately means a faster response to alarms from initial trip time. This benefits the citizens and businesses to which we provide service.”
