Join one (or more) of our TMA committees. Committees typically meet once a month with varying levels of commitment from just listening in to leading a project.
WHAT’S NEEDED: Your passion for professional monitoring! Whether you are a subject matter expert or just starting out, committee work is a great way to learn more about what’s happening in your industry, drive initiatives, and expand your network.
TIMELINE: There are various projects throughout the year.
HOURS: Most committees require a commitment of approximately 1 to 2 hours per month; some even less.

Take Part in Industry Standards Development
Join TMA’s Standards Committee. We need subject matter experts from your company to join their peers in helping define the future.
WHAT’S NEEDED: Your passion for professional monitoring! Whether you are a subject matter expert, technical writer, or just have a desire to stay up-to-date on the latest technological and operational trends in monitoring, the Standards Working Groups offer members and non-members a valuable opportunity to contribute to the future of our industry.
TIMELINE: There are various projects throughout the year.
HOURS: Time requirements vary based on the scope of the project and your role.

TMA Webinar Presentation
TMA webinars are purely educational and provide a “sales free” environment for members to learn about industry trends, updates and innovations.
WHAT’S NEEDED: Topic ideas and speakers for just-in-time 45 min/15 min Q&A virtual programs on topics of interest to the professional monitoring industry.
TIMELINE: Webinars are scheduled based on calendar availability.
HOURS: Flexible hours based on time needed to prepare and practice presentation.
TMA Blog or TMA Dispatch Article
The TMA blog and quarterly publication – TMA Dispatch – offer members an opportunity to share their knowledge and expertise with other members. Like our Signature Webinar Series, these communications are designed to be are purely informational or educational in nature. Each must be “sales free” and offer members informed insights into industry trends, updates, and innovations.
WHAT’S NEEDED: Topic ideas of interest to the professional monitoring industry. TMA blogs are approximately 300 words. Articles for the TMA Dispatch are typically 500 words. Authors and their companies do receive the byline and each are promoted across TMA communications channels.
TIMELINE: TMA blogs are scheduled based on calendar availability; articles for TMA Dispatch are due quarterly.
HOURS: Flexible hours based on time needed to draft.

2024 Program Planning
Help us identify what you’d like to see on the program schedule in 2024! This activity is geared towards best-practice development for monitoring center personnel working at various leadership levels. Session planners are needed throughout the year for the Mid-Year Meeting in April, OPSTech in November and the Annual Meeting in October.
WHAT’S NEEDED: Help to review content survey feedback, select sessions and discussion topics, and identify speakers to provide actionable take-aways. Visit the Speaker Lounge! Manufacturers and service providers are encouraged to participate as they are integral to the success of monitoring center operations.
TIMELINE: Education programs are meant to present just-in-time topics for all levels of leadership in the monitoring center. Programs and speakers are confirmed throughout the year.
HOURS: 30 minute meetings; as we get closer to event, approximately 4 hours per month for 3 months.
Annual Meeting 2024 Planning
TMA’s annual meeting showcases educational topics that include keynote speakers and panels geared towards executive level company owners and representatives.
WHAT’S NEEDED: Help to select speakers that will provide high value to all attendees. Online research and reference gathering for paid speakers; and program development.
TIMELINE: Our 2024 Annual Meeting is set for October 5-9 at the Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Program topic ideas are welcome, as are the selection of keynote speakers.
HOURS: Planning meetings are through email and over the phone on the front end. Requires approximately 1 to 2 hours per month based on marketing deadlines.
Course Development
TMA is developing two courses to support those interested in video surveillance education. If you are passionate about video services and technology in this fast growing area, please let us know!
WHAT’S NEEDED: Help to edit and review course content.
TIMELINE: Program topic ideas have been selected. Target launch date is the end of Q2.
HOURS: Review meetings are through occasional Zoom or GoToMeetings and through email communications. Requires approximately 1 to 2 hours per month based on your availability.
