WHAT IS WHOVA?

Whova is an app available to use both on mobile and desktop/laptop browsers. Through this app, participants can access the agenda and the education sessions, access attendee and speaker profiles, and much more. Whova makes networking easy! Schedule one-on-one or group meetups with fellow participants. Browse the event brochure, and set up your personalized schedule. TMA Presentations will be streamed live through the platform thanks to Zoom integration.

HOW AS AN ATTENDEE DO I GET THE BEST VIEWING EXPERIENCE?

When are you in a live session, for the best viewing experience we highly recommend switching your view to Full Screen. We will be using the Q&A feature in ZOOM and not the Q&A in the Whova Desktop or Mobile App.

We recommend using the desktop web link for the best experience:

  • OPS-TECH Web link
  • Annual Meeting Web link

CAN I USE MICROSOFT EDGE AS MY WEB BROWSER?

No. Edge will not support the event and the ability to watch the sessions live. The best platform to use is CHROME.  If using the web app, we recommend you use CHROME to watch all sessions for TMA Virtual events.

DO I NEED AN ACCESS CODE?

No. All Registered attendees are added to Whova daily. Watch for a notification email.

If you don’t have access to Whova by October 20th, email membership@tma.us.

DO I NEED THE WHOVA APP TO WATCH THE SESSIONS?

Yes, you’ll need to watch sessions through the Whova web app on your desktop or laptop OR you’ll need the Whova phone app to watch them through your iPhone, iPad or Android device.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MOBILE APP AND DESKTOP APP?

On the mobile app it is easier to find talks, add items to your agenda, network via the community boards, watch videos or webinars, and receive communication from organizers and attendees. Your phone camera and microphone will work via the mobile app for zoom communication.

The desktop app is better to attend the sessions and also when you need/want to use a desktop or laptop webcam. The videos will be larger on the desktop app.

You can access the desktop app for any video, by clicking ‘watch on desktop’ link below the video. You can also go directly to the desktop app

  • Annual Meeting Web App
  • OPS-TECH Web App

HOW CAN I ASK QUESTIONS TO PRESENTERS?

For live presentations, you can use the Zoom Q&A feature to ask questions. Feel free to post questions anytime during the presentation. A facilitator will manage the questions and read them to the speaker.

For uploaded asynchronous presentations, each video will have its own interactive Q&A feature. Attendees can post questions. The presenter will be notified via the Whova App. They can respond via the same Q&A feature. If you are a presenter, make sure to check the app often for notifications.

CAN I ARRANGE A VIRTUAL MEET-UP WITH COLLEAGUES?

Yes! Use the community board to schedule a virtual meet-up. You can make it closed (i.e., for a small group of people) or open to any attendees wishing to join.

HOW CAN I FIND/JOIN/ACCESS THE EVENT?

When you login to the Whova app with your name and the email that you used to register, the event you registered for will be at the top of the home screen under “My Events”.

If you have not registered for the event and plan on registering at the event or your event isn’t under “My Events,” you can start to search for our event by clicking the button “Find My Event / Conference” (if you’re using iOS devices ) or “Search all Whova events” (if you’re using Android devices) of the home screen.

Type the event name as the keywords to search the event.

If it ask you for a code, you are not register or have not been imported yet.

HOW CAN I EXPORT CONTACTS TO MY PHONE ADDRESS BOOK?

Click on the Profile Icon in the top left, then select the “My Contacts”. There you will see a button called “Save to Phone Address Book” under the “Contact Information” section. Click it to save current contact to your phone address book. You will also have the option in the top right to export your contacts to your email.

I FORGOT MY PASSWORD IN WHOVA. HOW CAN I RETRIEVE IT?

Enter the email address with which you register at the meeting on the Whova mobile app or desktop app and click “Forgot Password”. Whova will email you a four digit code to verify your identity and create a new password.

HOW CAN I CHANGE/DELETE MY PROFILE PHOTO?

Click on the Profile icon in the top left > “Edit My Profile” > Camera icon on your profile image, to either change or delete your photo.
